THREE POINTS: Chalfont beat Barking after 91st minute winner

Published on: 19th October 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Chalfont St Peter A.F.C

Chalfont St Peter got back to winning ways this afternoon (October 19) with a 2-1 win at home against Barking.

After a few early chances and a good fast start, Chalfont found themselves 0-1 down on the 28th minute.

The penalty converted by Dixon made it one nil.

Chalfont would have felt unlucky that they weren’t awarded a penalty, but the referee was adamant and waved it away.

A goal on the 40th minute by Berchiche made it 1-1 which was well deserved from a Chalfont perspective.

The home side started the second half with the same attitude and drive they had in the first half and were unlucky to not go 2-1 ahead after a good penalty save by the Barking keeper.

After some great chances failed to be converted and the final whistle fast approaching, Chalfont would have felt unlucky to not grab all three points but up stepped Ricky Brennan who made it 2-1 in the 91st minute. Amazing scenes.

Chalfont play at home to FC Romania on Wednesday in the Velocity Trophy.
