Some things are simply timeless, and a remarkable 1967 Ovaltine calendar proves it is always a good date to celebrate a great design.
Produced at the iconic Kings Langley factory, the calendar has been shortlisted for Hertfordshire Museums Object of the Year.
Created as a promotional gift for sales representatives and businesses stocking Ovaltine, the calendar’s bold and dynamic illustrations perfectly capture the spirit of the late 1960s.
It was distributed far beyond Hertfordshire, helping spread the brand’s message of “Supreme Energy” around the globe.
Recently conserved by paper conservator Kate, the calendar has been carefully cleaned, repaired, and strengthened to restore its original vibrancy.
Minor tears were mended and perforations reinforced, to help ensure that this splendid piece of advertising history does not lose track of time.
This calendar is a nostalgic snapshot of stylish marketing, local craftsmanship, and a brand that has long stood the test of time.
