Potholes are many drivers’ worst enemies and yet they seem to appear in almost every road, street and path.
One resident in Abbots Langley has reached out to ABBOTSnews when their car was damaged after hitting a pothole.
Val had driven into Katherine Place when another car entered the same road as her at high speed, leaving her no choice but to swerve into the hollow ditch.
According to Val, it cost her over £300 to repair her car, as the garage confirmed that the damage was pothole related after the lower arm ball joint was leaking grease.
As a result, she contacted Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), who told her that they were unable to help.
Speaking to ABBOTSnews, Val said: “I normally manage to miss it, it’s large and it’s deep and it’s been there for a very long time.
“If the pothole were to be filled in, at least it may prevent another car from sustaining such damage.”
HCC responded, saying: “Katherine Place is not part of the adopted highway and therefore not maintained by HCC.”
