Staff and students from a school in Stanmore jumped into action last month to support the invaluable work that Sport Relief does.
Bentley Wood High School for Girls enjoyed getting active, and this year’s Sport Relief theme was “whatever moves you”, and the school certainly got moving.
All students took part in a dance-a-thon in their PE lessons throughout the week in order to recognise the important health benefits of physical activity and to celebrate the fact that they all have a right to be able to take part in physical activity where some young women don’t.
A range of different sporting clubs were held throughout the week including a basketball shoot hoops competition, stack cups challenge and a Just Dance competition.
However, the highlight of the week was certainly the staff versus student benchball competition which, despite a good effort from the many teams of students who entered, the staff won.
A school spokesperson said: “Well done to all staff and students who donated and supported the cause. Your donations will certainly be going towards some very worthy causes.”
