Berkhamsted author Alastair McIver has recently published his book, No One Hears You Scream… But Silence Will Be Heard, his second of three political crime novels in the Roza Beshimov mysteries trilogy.
Based in central Asia, the book follows the life of Roza, a young rookie journalist who sets out to expose some of the region’s less palatable cultural practices. A series of unexplained murders of nomadic women points towards the existence of a shady femicide cartel run by some of the country’s leading political figures, which, if exposed, would threaten to bring down the government. As the net closes in, more lives are put in danger, including Roza’s.
Alastair has been widely published in tennis, Christian and mainstream media over a career spanning three decades. After many visits to central and south Asia, hearing testimonies from abused women about the widespread injustices perpetrated on them, he was moved to write a series of fictional, political crime books about cultural malpractice.
His first novel in the series, The Daily News – There is Nothing Hidden That Will Not be Revealed, is also available to order.
