Two new pieces of accessible play equipment have officially opened on East Common in Gerrards Cross.
Councillor Prerna Bhardwaj, chairman of Gerrards Cross Town Council, formally cut the ribbons on the new roundabout and trampoline, both of which are accessible by wheelchair.
Councillor Celia Stuart-Lee, chairman of the Commons Committee, said: “We provided this equipment in response to requests from Shailza, the mother of a severely disabled son. It was very emotional to see him laughing with joy on the new roundabout. I’d like to thank our town clerk, Pravina, who has been our project manager.”
The roundabout and trampoline join an array of play equipment already present on the Common, including slides, swings, climbing frames, and a witch’s hat.
Denham, Gerrards Cross & Chalfonts Community Board helped to fund the project. Councillor Santokh Chhokar represented the board at the opening, joined by several town councillors.
