A man who is preparing for a charity boxing match in Hemel Hempstead later this month has said he is “excited and nervous, but more excited!”.
Danny Jakes will be taking part in the Ultra White Collar Boxing event at Cloud 9 Leisure in Hemel on Saturday, March 22.
When deciding which charity to raise money for, it was a no brainer. Danny chose the Mental Health Foundation in memory of his brother Lee, who took his own life in 2022, aged 34.
Speaking to HEMELnews, Danny said: “He was a well-respected hairdresser with loads of friends, and he seemed happy. It was such a big shock for everyone.
“I’m excited and nervous but more excited, I can’t wait for it! Knowing that I am doing it for my brother is a strong motivator.”
Heading to his social media to share the fundraiser, Danny explained: “I have been trying to find something I can do to raise money in his name and the perfect opportunity has come my way.”
