A Chorleywood resident is on a mission to ensure our four-legged friends have safe, loving homes.
Emma Browne co-runs Álora Dog Rescue in Spain, a charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abused and abandoned dogs.
Sadly, the rescue’s kennels were destroyed due to catastrophic flooding during Storm Dana last year.
They are now hoping to rebuild the kennels, and are appealing for the public’s help. With winter approaching, this will ensure the charity’s dogs have a warmer, safer Christmas than last year.
On Friday, November 28, the rescue is hosting a two-course dinner, silent auction, and race night at West Herts Golf Club in Croxley to raise vital funds. All proceeds will go to the dog rescue.
The charity is appealing for local businesses to consider sponsoring or donating a prize, voucher or contribution towards the event, and tickets are also available for those looking to attend.
Speaking to CHORLEYWOODnews, Emma said: “This event isn’t just about raising the vital funds we need to rebuild the damaged kennels — it’s also about shining a light on the incredible dogs in our care and the work our team does to give them a second chance. We hope it will bring our community together, raise awareness, and inspire more people to open their hearts and homes through adoption.”
