Preparations are well underway for the Abbots Langley Carnival procession.
Each year, hundreds of participants assemble on School Mead on the morning of June 10 for the opening event of the popular carnival.
Many will be dressed in costume according to the theme, which this year is All At Sea. The entrants are judged, and trophies and certificates are awarded.
Leaving School Mead at 12pm, the procession takes a route through the village, arriving at the High Street then Manor House Grounds approximately one hour later. Those unable to attend in person can follow the progress of the procession live on Watford Lions Club’s Facebook page.
The participants will be accompanied by vehicles, decorated trolleys, and walking groups, as well as road safety stewards and charity collectors. The police assist in traffic control, as do the motorcyclists of the Royal British Legion Riders.
