A man from Watford has been jailed after pleading guilty to making threats to kill a man whom he knew.
Aaron Gaskin, 30, of no fixed abode in Watford, was sentenced to 13 months and two weeks in prison at St Albans Crown Court on Thursday, February 5. He had changed his plea to guilty following an earlier hearing.
The incident happened in Epsom Road at around 1.00pm on Thursday, April 8, 2023. Gaskin drove up alongside the victim as they were walking along the road. Gaskin made it clear that he intended to kill the victim.
Gaskin then reversed his vehicle at speed, mounting the pavement, in an attempt to hit the victim. The victim jumped out of the way and was not injured.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Amy Lodge-Gray said: “I would firstly like to thank the victim for reporting Gaskin’s offending to police. I can imagine how frightening the experience must have been.
“Offences like this will not be tolerated in Hertfordshire, and anyone who thinks they are above the law should think again about committing crimes of this nature.”
