The hidden stories of Pinner have decided they want to be heard once more – this time through a fallen shop sign on Bridge Street.
What is now Lule Hair and Beauty, once had a very different life.
While the new sign may have given up, it revealed beautiful old signage for The Wool Shop, which is believed to date back to the 1950s.
The discovery sparked a wave of nostalgia amongst residents. Locals were quick to share their memories of the shop and the community that surrounded it.
One resident said: “I remember going in there with my lovely mother. She was always knitting lovely things for the family.”
Another recalled: “Thank you for putting this up. As I don’t live in Pinner anymore, I really enjoy seeing the shops which fill my memories. Our babysitter worked at The Wool Shop. The memories of spending time with Joyce are flooding back.”
