LEGAL SHUTDOWN: Bushey solicitor’s office shut down by regulator

Published on: 11th March 2026   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Featured

A law firm with an office in Bushey has been closed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) following regulatory action taken earlier this month.

The SRA confirmed that Hunters Solicitors LLP was formally intervened on March 4, 2026, meaning the regulator has shut the firm down to protect the interests of its clients and former clients.

Among the offices affected by the closure is Graham White & Co on Bushey High Street, which operated under Hunters Solicitors LLP.

The intervention also impacts several other offices linked to the firm across England, including locations in High Wycombe, Bovingdon in Hertfordshire, Abingdon, Maidenhead, Henley-on-Thames and London.

An intervention is a step taken by the SRA when it believes it is necessary to step in and close a law firm. As a result, the firm and the solicitors involved are no longer able to act for clients.

Law firm Shakespeare Martineau LLP, based in Birmingham, has been appointed by the SRA to assist with the closure and manage client files from the affected offices.

Clients who had ongoing legal matters with the Bushey office or any other branch will now need to appoint a new solicitor to continue their case.

Shakespeare Martineau has not taken over the legal work of the firm and will not be able to represent former clients.

Anyone affected can contact the intervention team by phone on 0300 247 2470 or by email at hunters-intervention@shma.co.uk for information about retrieving their files.
