A new and improved bus route between the Chalfonts villages could be coming into effect in the next few months following a successful campaign by residents.
Last month on the cover of ChalfontsNews, we reported that residents were unhappy with bus services in the village and were campaigning for improvements.
Now, Carousel bus company are in talks with Buckinghamshire Council to find a solution to improve routes based on demand in the community.
Councillor Simon Rouse of Chalfont St Giles Ward said: “I am pleased to be working with Chalfont St Giles residents to see what progress can be made to put in place a bus route. I have held a very constructive discussion with the Directors at Carousel who are keen to try and find a solution, and we will be working over the next few months to prove the demand from residents is there to support a viable route.
“We need to recognise this has been a tough couple of years for bus companies even with extensive government support, and so it is important we work collaboratively to try and build a viable route. I am optimistic we can do that as a community.”
