Chorleywood residents are invited to sign up to the annual Ricky Road Run next month.
The upcoming event is a 10-mile charity road race through Chorleywood and Rickmansworth. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the event, which has raised more than £450,000 for WaterAid, KitAid, and local charities since it was founded in 1984.
From 10.30am on Sunday, October 27, participants will run a scenic route along a marked course with some road closures, beginning and ending at Shepherds Lane.
Runners will once again be raising funds for various charities, including Watford-based Small Acts of Kindness, which helps to reduce loneliness for older and vulnerable people.
Phil Livingstone, head of marketing and communications for supporters of the event Affinity Water, said: “We are thrilled to support the 40th anniversary of the Ricky Road Run, an event that not only brings the community together but also raises vital funds for incredible causes like WaterAid, KitAid, and Small Acts of Kindness.
“At Affinity Water, we are proud of our long-standing association with this race. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference, and we’re excited to see so many participants come together for such a great cause.”
Race numbers can be collected from 9am on race day at Chorleywood Working Men’s Club on Shepherds Lane.
