FUNDRAISING SUCCESS: Signed football raises £320 in Abbots Langley Crafty Ladies’ silent auction

The Abbots Langley Crafty Ladies surpassed their fundraising goal of £200 in their recent silent auction, adding £320 to their fundraiser for the Starfish Ward at Watford General Hospital.

As reported in last month’s ABBOTSnews, the group has launched a challenge to raise £5,000 for the children’s ward at the hospital.

This included a silent auction of a 1984 football signed by Sir Elton John CBE, Graham Taylor OBE, Luther Blissett OBE, and previous players.

The winning bid came from proud Watford fan Stuart Neilson, who was delighted to add the football to his collection of Watford FC items.

The Abbots Langley Crafty Ladies have raised a total of £3,009 so far through various events across the year, including a meal at La Banq and donating a handmade quilt.

They are encouraging groups, schools and clubs to donate by participating in fundraising activities as they near their fundraising goal of £5,000.

The money will go towards refurbishing a cubicle in the Starfish Ward and creating a more private environment for those undergoing treatment.
