Areas across Pinner have been given a facelift thanks to a series of litter picks organised by residents, Safer Neighbourhood Teams, MPs and volunteers.
David Simmonds CBE, MP for Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner, joined officers from the Pinner South Safer Neighbourhood Team on Thursday, November 21, armed with a litter picker and black bags to help clean up the area.
The MP said: “Great to see community collaboration to ensure the high street is brought up to the standard we expect for residents in the constituency.”
The following week, to mark Inter Faith Week and Mitzvah Day, officers from Pinner and North Harrow joined a community litter pick in North Harrow. There was a great turnout at the community event, which was organised by Kol Chai Reform Synagogue and Churches Together.
The same week, a team of volunteers from Bridge Street Gardens – with the help of a wheelbarrow loaned by the Friends of Pinner Village Gardens – tidied up hedges and collected litter around the Bridge Street area.
