Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road traffic collision that happened on Harpenden Road in St Albans on Sunday, May 1. The incident happened at 6pm when a blue Yamaha Raptor quad bike was travelling along the road and was in collision with a grey Renault Scenic. Tragically the rider of the quad bike, a 40-year-old man from Hatfield, sustained injuries that proved to be fatal and he passed away at hospital a short time later. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Investigating officer, PC Jackie Lister from the Road Policing Unit, said: “Sadly as a result of this collision a man has lost his life and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. “We are currently trying to piece together the circumstance of this incident and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the collision take place, or who saw the vehicles in the area before the incident, are asked to contact police as soon as possible.” Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the non-emergency number 101.
