A suicide prevention charity recently hosted a talk at Tring School.
Hector Stringer, who attended Tring School, was a talented musician and sociable 18 year old. He sadly took his own life in April 2011.
His family set up Hector’s House charity shortly after, with a mission of listening to those struggling, encouraging healthy living, and signposting advice.
In November, Sarah, Susan and Rupert the dog from Hector’s House visited Tring School to give a mental health talk to Sixth Form students.
The charity is running its Eat Move Love campaign to encourage everyone to eat better, move more, and strengthen relationships with themselves and others to better their mental health.
After the talk, the students took turns to play with therapy dog Rupert, and chat with Sarah and Susan about their work in the community.
A spokesperson for the charity said: “The school is delighted to work with this amazing local charity and values the advice and support they offer our young people.”
