CASH BOOST: Council grants to pandemic-stricken businesses doubled

Published on: 22nd December 2021   |   By: Bryn Holmes   |   Category: Uncategorized

Cash grants for local businesses hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic have been doubled by Three Rivers District Council.

Firms can now apply for Three Rivers Business Growth Grants which are now worth between £2,000 and £10,000.

The money is to be used tools, equipment and consultations for companies affected by the pandemic to help sustain them through these difficult times, as well as creating jobs.

Cllr Sarah Nelmes, Leader of Three Rivers District Council, said: “It is vital that we are now offering bigger grants to help our local businesses at this critical moment of the ongoing pandemic.

“We want to ensure our business are on the best possible position for when we all emerge from this pandemic – which is why we are taking this action.

“I strongly urge any local employer who thinks they qualify for these grants to get in touch now and see if we can help.”

The choice of which companies the grants go and how much they get to is down to the council’s partners in the scheme, Hertfordshire Growth Hub (HGH). They’re available for any businesses that employ between 2 to 19 people, have the ability to grow and have been affected by the pandemic.

Liza Armstrong, Head of the HGH said: “”We are pleased to continue to work with Three Rivers District Council to support local businesses at a time when support is needed, more than ever.

“This is an opportunity for businesses to meet with our experienced business advisers who will provide 1-2-1 support, discuss their challenges, and agree key actions to enable business growth.”
