RESIDENTS UNLEASH ANGER OVER BOUNDARY WAY DEVELOPMENT PLANS

Published on: 20th October 2017   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

Residents on a local estate accuse a housing trust of attempting to “shove through” plans to demolish 24 flats and several garages and build 62 new homes. The plans for the Boundary Way Estate were submitted by Watford Community Housing Trust earlier this month. Mick Fox, chair of the Boundary Way Action Group, said: “They have completely ignored our views in a bid to get as much housing in as possible. We have enough concrete and cars on this estate already. We don’t need this – we need more greenery.” The planning applications state that the development will provide a chance to redesign communal areas and improve landscaping and layout and reduce anti-social behaviour. It also states that the scheme would provide high quality, affordable homes and improve the appearance of the estate which is described as “somewhat non-domestic and forbidding”.
