Relieve the stresses of life

Published on: 11th April 2016   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

As often happens, when life deepens, one seeks a harbour, a place gentled by the soft stirrings of peace, a place to relax and be still. The journey begins to find such an oasis; the search goes on till one learns such a place is to be found within. There are myriad ways of arriving at this point. There are paths trodden by the wise Masters who have generously imparted their teachings for those who follow. iMindSelf, a project under Swara Pain Management Centre Ltd offers to share some of the teachings imparted from the Himalayan Masters on “learning to Meditate.” Here, one prepares to establish and strengthen the core within through ancient wisdom of yoga and meditation incorporating modern applications. Sessions include gentle physical postures, breath practices  and deep relaxation leading to meditation. Sessions are on Monday evenings from 7:15pm to 8:45pm at the Church House, St. John’s Church, Old Church Lane, Stanmore HA7 2QX from April 2016 onwards. All are welcome. Based on the application of similar yogic practices combined with knowledge and experience drawn from medical sciences and cognitive behavioural modelling, a programme for people with pain will also be offered shortly. A unique outcome of this offering is that participants will be able to develop their own model of managing pain based on their personal situation incorporating strategies from this programme. Both programmes are offered by Dr. Tacson Fernandez, Chronic Pain Consultant, and his spouse, Ms. Rajini Prakash, Wellness, Career and Management Coach. Both are qualified teachers trained in an authentic Himalayan Tradition with 500-‐hour RYT(USA), RYT(UK), CYAI recognised. Call 07881891902 or write to imindself@gmail.com to register. For Meditation sessions, please bring a yoga mat, light shawl and cushion. Proceeds from iMindSelf are donated to charity.
