Police are hunting thieves who stole a rare motorbike from a dealers in Ruislip Manor before escaping on it. In the early hours of July 18, the moped gang smashed their way into Daytona Motorcycles on Windmill Hill after they hotwired a security shutter. Staff at Daytona said the thieves knew exactly what they were looking for. There are only six H2 Carbon Kawasaki in the UK and just 120 worldwide. The bike is worth £128,000. Ricky Simmonds, sales manager at Daytona, said the bike had been bought for a specific customer. He explained: “They are gutted – it was their pride and joy. They hadn’t collected it and it is not one they can replace. The police need to have more powers to stop these gangs – they are ruining our industry and giving bikers a bad name.” As well as the H2 Carbon, the thieves also stole several crash helmets and another Suzuki bike which they abandoned. Mr Simmons added: “They hotwired shutter – they rammed the door to break in but the door frame came off. Today’s thieves have change the way they do things. They threw the bikes on the floor and knew exactly they were going for.” Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, tweet @metcc or call Crimestoppers free and anonymously on 0800 555 111.
