Police, including firearms officers, were called to Rickmansworth after a group of males were seen with what was believed to have been a handgun. At 6.05pm on Thursday, September 10, the police were called to Meadow Way in Rickmansworth. The group left the scene, one on a red Yamaha YZF motorbike and the others in Red Vauxhall Corsa. Both vehicles were stopped a short time later in Nightingale Road. Following a search of the car, a bag containing four imitation firearms were located. Five men from Harrow have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and remain in police custody at this time. The men are aged 19, 21, 22, 22 and 26 years old. Detective Inspector Phil Moss said: “It is understandable that local residents may have been concerned following the incident and we are aware of a number of rumours circulating about what may have happened. “Please be reassured this was quickly contained and at no point were any threats made to members of the public.” Picture from the Rickmansworth, Chorleywood and Croxley Green Facebook page.
