A man has been charged in connection with two burglaries which took place in Watford. Marvyn Mulvey, 37, and of no fixed address was arrested in Watford on Tuesday, April 14 on suspicion of burglary and going equipped to steal. He was charged with burglary in connection with two incidents which took place on the same day and on the same street. The burglaries took place at Loates Lane on April 14 with a laptop taken from inside a dwelling after the rear patio door was smashed and the other burglary also involved the rear patio door being smashed, although no items were taken from within. Mulvey was also charged with going equipped to steal and he is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court on April 16. Detective Inspector Phil Moss said: ‘’Whilst this arrest relates to burglaries which have occurred in Watford, my team of detective are working to establish any possible links to burglaries which have occurred in the South Oxhey area over the past few weeks. “This is a complex investigation and our work continues to detect these crimes, prevent further incidents and keep the public safe.’’ Police are asking people to contact them if they witness any suspicious activity via 999 if you believe a crime is in progress or alternatively dial the non-emergency number 101.
