A father of two from Pinner has fulfilled a lifelong dream by successfully taking on the iconic Le Mans race track during a 24 hour endurance karting race. Les Conway was joined by five others to form the team which took on the challenging circuit on July 16 -17. Les, a financial planner based in the High Street, said: “I’m a huge motorsport fan so when the chance came up to do this I thought you only live once so why not go for it? “It was a memorable experience and apart from a few mechanical challenges it all went pretty smoothly. “The biggest challenge was keeping alert, especially as most of us didn’t manage to catch any sleep during the 24 hours we were racing. “Thankfully my fitness training before the event paid off and that mixed with the adrenalin and team camaraderie meant I felt fine when doing my stints behind the wheel.” Mr Conway was part of the CSMA Boundless Le Mans Racing Team.
