A man from Hatch End has been sentenced to three years and six months’ imprisonment for possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis. John Perry, 30, of Windsor Road was found guilty at trial at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday, August 5 and sentenced on the same day. The court heard how on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, Harrow Street Duty officers were carrying out arrest enquiries when they saw Perry on the roof, climbing through a window of a house in Windsor Road. Suspecting he was a burglar, officers entered the property to speak to him. Perry stated that he was out on the roof smoking cannabis. A search was carried out at the address and a rucksack was discovered in a void area between the conservatory and the back fence. This rucksack contained a large amount of cocaine and cannabis along with a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia. Perry was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and B drugs. A fingerprint that matched Perry’s was found on a bag containing cocaine and on two other items found inside the rucksack. Perry was charged on September 17 found guilty at trial. Detective Constable Gemma Fraser said: “This is an excellent result, not only has Mr Perry been convicted of these offences but also a vast amount of drugs have been taken off of the streets, along with cash and this will have caused real disruption to the organisation involved.”
