Festive lights to brighten up Kings Langley

Published on: 26th November 2014   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

The annual Kings Langley Christmas Festival will return this Saturday (November 29) to get the community in the festive spirit. Beverley Ross, Parish Council administrative assistant, told My Kings News that the festival is great for the community. She added: “It’s a fun event for the community to come and enjoy and for local groups to perform.” The High Street will be pedestrianised from 1pm until 8.30pm and traffic will be diverted, this will allow an array of stalls, activities and Santa’s grotto to be set up. The stalls will include food, arts, crafts and the local community market selling food and jam; there will also be charity stalls set up to raise money. A stage will be set up in the centre of the High Street and entertainment will include the Kings Langley Primary School Orchestra and Choir, Kings Langley Community Choir and English folk and rock band Whinlatter. The event will be opened by Barry Denmead from Wilden Services Ltd, the main event sponsors. The lights will be switched on at around 5pm with the special arrival of Father Christmas and clowns; followed by fireworks at 7pm.
