Watford hitman and global boxing superstar Anthony Joshua took a break from his hectic lifestyle to launch his elite series protein and shaker at Watford Tesco. The sporting star, 27, was launching his AJ branded merchandise in collaboration with EQ Nutrition but it was also an opportunity for fans to meet the man himself and get an autograph, and perhaps a cheeky selfie too. Scores of locals and fans alike made their way to the store after the heavyweight champion took to social media to announce his unexpected visit to his hometown between 2pm and 4pm on February 3. Some of the crowd had been queuing since midday to meet their idol. Tom Drew, from Enfield, visited the store. He told WatfordNews: “I can’t wait to get a picture with him – I’ve loved him since the Olympics. “I heard he was coming down here at work so thought I’d make my way over.” Nick, who came all the way down from Swindon with his friends, said: “I’m a massive fan. I took the day off sick just to be here.” Meanwhile, Watford resident Matthew Hudson said: “We saw on his Instagram last night that he was going to be here between 2pm and 4pm, so it’s a great opportunity to come down and see him and meet the man.”
