Edgware completed their league schedule with four points out of six, drawing 2-2 at Crawley Green, which saw the home side seal their place as promoted runners up to The Wares. The last day of the season saw another road trip, Woodford Town being vanquished 4-2. Next season will see the Wares in the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands league and with SJP now looking like a superb ground, why not come visit The Wares. Fabio Valenti has stepped up from his role as assistant manager to fill the boots of Michael Roche who stepped down after securing promotion for the Wares. Everyone at the club is grateful for the time, effort and sheer hard work Rochey put in to help Edgware Town. The club have also got some pre-season friendlies arranged. This gesture will help develop football for females in the area, and bring the community and club even closer together. The club would like to thank The Football Foundation for this award, and will use the money according to develop the ladies setup. Ladies manager, Chris Walker, said “It’s great news, and thank you to the people involved in gaining this, especially Daz Bloor and Dan Manzi, and of course the Football Foundation, it gives the team a boost, and we can move on and will now push on to join the Greater London Ladies League, and create a safe and fun place for ladies to enjoy their football.” Edgware’s Ladies team are now training on Friday evenings, between 7.30pm to 9pm at Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, NW9 7NE. New players are welcome.
