Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Chorleywood. The incident happened on Chorleywood Common sometime between 2.15pm and 2.35pm on Saturday, July 11. A 14-year-old boy was walking through a wooded area when he was approached by three teenagers. One of them then punched the victim to his right eye. The victim managed to run off. The suspect is described as an Asian male, aged approximately 15-16 years old, around 6ft tall, with very short dark coloured hair. He was wearing dark chino trousers and a white t-shirt. PC Jennifer Wheeler-King, who is investigating, said: “This was an unprovoked attack which has understandably left the victim quite shaken. “At the time of the incident, the Chorleywood fair was on so there would have been a number of people in the area at the time. I am appealing for anyone with information about what happened to contact me.” Anyone with information should contact PC Wheeler-King via the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference C2/15/1594. If you have any information about this incident you can also contact the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
