Two of the most active speed cameras in Three Rivers are on the same stretch of road between Croxley and Rickmansworth, My News Magazine can exclusively reveal. The most active speed camera in Three Rivers is the eastbound speed camera on Scots Hill, near to Copthorne Road. This is according to an FOI request submitted to Hertfordshire Constabulary. Following closely behind is the westbound speed camera on Scots Hill, which is the third most active camera in the district. The other three speed cameras on the list are the northbound Prestwick Road camera close to Hoylake Gardens in South Oxhey, which is second on the list, the westbound Uxbridge Road camera close to Money Hill Road in Rickmansworth, which is fourth on the list, and the southbound Prestwick Road camera close to Northwick Gardens, which is fifth. A spokesman for Herts Constabulary told My News Magazine how a speed camera works and the locations are available for drivers to find on the internet. He said: ““The number of times speed cameras are activated fluctuates naturally over time and across different locations depending on driver behaviour. “The location of each camera is publicised on Herts County Council’s website and is set with the purpose of encouraging drivers to slow down in areas where serious collisions have occurred rather than to generate income.” Picture courtesy of Tom Bishop
