A man from Abbots Langley is cycling 300 miles in 24 hours to raise money for a charity which helped improve his daughter’s quality of life. Craig Moorcroft is embarking on a trip from London to Newcastle to raise £8,000 for Caudwell Children, a charity which provides practical and emotional support for disabled children. The charity continuously supports his 11-year-old daughter, Sian who was diagnosed with type Two Spinal Muscular Atrophy in 2004. He said: “Sian has been extremely fortunate with the support that she has received from Caudwell Children. “The succession of specialist Balder wheelchairs that she has received has given her the mobility that she needs.” Craig has been doing on average 16-miles per week of training to get himself ready for the big day on August 30. His wife, Emma commented: “Team Moorcroft will be supporting him, the kids will cheer him on at the start line.” To sponsor Craig visit his Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/SiansBigRide More information on the story will be out in this month’s My Abbots News.
